How To Breeze Through Your Beach Pictures | Hilton Head Photographer

Family

The summer is a wonderful time for traveling to the beach, and everyone with an Instagram account seems to be doing it. As we’re wrapping up tourist season down here in the Lowcountry, I have a feeling you’re already planning your trips for next year! If you want to have a fantastic session that will leave friends in awe check out this easy guide.

I was just thinking to myself how important what I do is. How often do you get family pictures done when you’re on vacation? I know my family never had ours done! Planning a vacation can be just a little stressful. By using these tips, you are one step closer to being the envy of everyone back at home.

Where are you staying, how are you getting there, how are you getting around there, where are you eating for 2-3 meals a day. What the heck do you even bring to the beach?

My goal is to make your session the thing you enjoy the most about your trip! You can read my last blog about planning outfits (which doesn’t have to be hard!!) and that’s one of the last things you’ll have to worry about!

I recommend reaching out as soon as you’ve nailed down the dates for your trip. If it’s during summer, sooner is definitely better. I book up 1-2 months in advance, and by the time the last-minute inquiries come in all I have left are sunrise sessions! Which I promise aren’t as bad as they sound ?.

Once we’ve gotten your contract signed and deposit paid, your date is officially reserved and we can let the fun begin! You’ll get a series of emails from me leading up to the session to help mentally and emotionally prepare your family. I also send a “prep” questionnaire so I can get to know you and your group a little better. This especially helps me bond with hubs and kids at the session (it also helps me prepare in case there are any unexpected surprises or family dynamics – adopted siblings, step-parents, etc).

Depending on the size of the group I maaaaaay or may not be able to remember everyone’s names, but I will definitely try to remember the kids at least!

Be sure you take a look at my prep emails – I give all kinds of helpful tips and tricks for picture taking! You can even forward them to others in the group who may need a little coaching or encouragement before the session.

Once you’ve gone through all my tips, all that’s left for you to do is show up! Just relax and I will guide you through all the poses and prompts with ease to make you guys feel so comfortable and forget you’re even having your picture taken.

That’s it! I’m always happy to answer any questions you might have so don’t be afraid to reach out.

If you’re traveling to Hilton Head, Bluffton, Beaufort, or Savannah areas and want to schedule a session of your own with me I would love to hear from you! You can reach out for more information at ellemichelephotography@gmail.com

Thank you so much for reading this post and I hope that all of your summer plans will be a breeze.
