Not gonna lie, when Tatiana reached out to me to shoot her wedding, I was nervous because she had a whole arsenal of questions about my shooting, storing, and backup processes so I was a little concerned about what I was getting myself into…

Turns out her cousin had a terrible experience with her own wedding photographer and got hardly any images of their wedding day! So Tati was right to ask all those questions! Lucky for her, I could answer all of them.

Tatiana + Matthew had the brightest beach wedding I’ve ever seen.  So many thoughtful details went into this big day, I can’t wait to share them all with you!

While Matthew was helping to set up the ceremony site, Tatiana was getting ready in the bridal suite of the Hilton Head Beach & Tennis Resort. The room had lots of mirrors which made it very bright and cheerful. Delaney is the on-site coordinator for the resort and she took care of all the florals as well!

Laura Alzubi (iDoBliss on Etsy) is the creator of the invitation suite.

Joanna Marie was the Hair & Makeup Artist who made sure Tatiana was as beautiful as she could be! (Follow her on Instagram, Facebook, or her Website). I’ve gotten to work with Joanna before and she is amazing! She is so sweet, and really listens to her brides! This wasn’t just any curled ponytail, find out how Joanna got this look here. Wondering what she used to get that golden glow from within? Find her process here. Her final hairpiece was from Amazon.

Matt got his suit from Dillards and Tatiana’s shoes were from Steve Madden. She loved how affordable, attractive, and comfortable they were. When Tati told me she got her dress from Etsy I was blown away! The quality of it was amazing, and the details were impeccable.

The ceremony happened on the beach at the resort. It was a small wedding (about 30 people). Each guest got a gift bag that had a wooden fan (with the bride & groom’s names and date on it), a candle, and a jar of sand with shells to remember the day since all of their guests were coming from out of town.  She got all these gifts from Etsy and assembled the bags herself. One detail that caught my eye from the ceremony is the table to honor the family members who were unable to be there. This is such a thoughtful sentiment and I love seeing it at weddings.

Their wedding was at the beginning of August, and it was pretty hot out. Most of the guests were using the fans from their gift bags to block the sun from their eyes instead of actually fanning themselves. If you’re going to be having or attending a beach wedding, I highly recommend making sure you put on sunscreen before heading out. I attended a beach wedding once and by the end of the ceremony I was pretty burned (but maybe that’s just because I was so pale to start with ?)

The officiant they hired, Brian was also great! He really took the time to get to know Tatiana and Matt beforehand which made their ceremony truly personal.

I think my favorite thing about their wedding is that all of their guests wore white. When I had my consultation call with Tati and she told me what her wedding colors were and what everyone was wearing I was a little taken aback. I had no idea what it would look like. Guys. How beautiful is all the white?!

When I was coming up with a name for this post I researched some synonyms for the word white and this is something that came up… “Some of the positive meanings that white can convey include cleanliness, freshness, and simplicity. The color white often seems like a blank slate, symbolizing a new beginning or a fresh start.” Nothing could be more true for a wedding ceremony!

Also, in case you haven’t noticed this is my favorite ceremony shot to get! ??

After the ceremony, everyone headed over to Coast Oceanfront Dining at the all-new Sea Pines Beach Club for the reception. Guests were able to choose their three-course meal from a customized menu. My favorite part of the menu was the key lime pie dessert which happened to be the groom and his mother’s favorite treat (not to mention mine! ?)

We took care of the family photos on the balcony where the reception was, and then I headed down to the beach with Matt & Tati to do their newlywed portraits. Tatiana changed into a slimmer gown that would be more comfortable to move around in. She said her wedding day was absolutely perfect and she wouldn’t change a single thing about it.

At the very end of the night, we ran back down to the beach to get some creative shots and I love how they turned out!
